Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
After several weeks of prayerful consideration of our current position in ministry and your call to serve as Senior Pastor of St. Matthew, we have been led to accept your call.
At the March 28, 2004 Voter's Assembly of Trinity Lutheran Church, Peoria, we will request peaceful release from our current call. Following this date we will work with both congregations to establish an appropriate timetable for this transition.
During our time among you we were impressed by the spirit and energy you displayed. We also became well aware of the various challenges you face in the years ahead. Your long and blessed history of ministry faces what all congregations encounter at crucial times. You must prayerfully seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit to lead you through a period of Godly development as you address the current and future opportunities God places before you. Building upon your rich heritage, and employing the many gifts God has placed among you, you will move into your future with boldness and confidence. Our gracious God always blesses those who faithfully proclaim and apply the saving gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. We look forward to being part of this ministry.
We also have great appreciation for the people who have served you prior to this date. Pastor Payne and Megan are highly gifted servants of God with whom we look forward to sharing pastoral ministry. We expect to receive helpful support from Pastor and Mrs. Krueger and your interim, Pastor Krause. We also look forward to a close association with Principal Peterson and your Day School staff.
May the Lord of the Church continue to guide and direct us in the years ahead. We ask your prayers for God's people of Trinity, Peoria as they seek this same guidance in addressing their pastoral needs.
