PIG ROAST- 2025 -Note from Mark Schuett
What a perfect day we had for the 2025 Pig Roast, it was a beautiful weekend, sunny skies and a very, very
comfortable temperature.
I want to thank the congregation of St. Matthew for making this a wonderful fellowship experience! It is a wonderful thing to see when the congregation puts forth an effort such as was shown for a setup on Saturday operating the Pig Roast on Sunday and taking down all the tents, tables, chairs etc. on Sunday evening.
Thank everyone who donated Oinks, funded miscellaneous needs, and generously gave to the general donations that made this event a success.
In the upcoming months our plan is to poll the congregation to see how we should move forward with the Pig and Corn Roast or if it is time to look at new opportunities.
I would like to thank my committee for an outstanding effort to make this event come off without a hitch. Thank You to: Greg and Jane Chess, Sandy Hull, Scott Kristensen, Scott Stavnes Derek and Lindy Chambers-Boucher, Jake Grubbs, Nancy Blonski, Doug Duval, Cheri Selimos, Gloria Sawich, Bonnie Frey and Corrine Chambers-Boucher.
Lastly, I want to reach out to all that volunteered your time (too Many to name) that helped on Saturday and Sunday.
I want our congregation to know what an effort it takes to pull off an event like the Pig Roast. Should we continue, which I hope we do, we really need to get more people to volunteer to be on the committee, to volunteer their time and to help bring new ideas to help our church connect with the community.
Remember, this is not my church alone, it is our church. My hope is that more of our congregation will get involved in the many events St. Matthew offers throughout the year. I hope that each and everyone of you will take advantage of this opportunity!!
Thank You. – Mark
