Voter's Assembly
The Voter's Assembly of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and School meets twice during the calendar year. Meetings are held in May and November and are chaired by the Chairman of the congregation. Special meetings may be called for specific topics. To be a Voting Member you must: 1) Be a communicate member of the congregation, 2) Must have attained the age of legal majority in the State of Illinois (18), 3) Voting privileges commence with the attendance at a second Meeting (regular or special) of the Voter's Assembly.

Church Council
The Church Council is responsible to conduct and discuss all matters pertaining to the general welfare of the congregation, to review all reports, present recommendations to the Voters' Assembly and conduct the business of the Congregation. The Church Council consists of: Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, and the Chair or representative of each of its boards. The senior pastor is an ex-officio non-voting member. The Church Council meets eight (8) times during the calendar year or may meet for special topics.

The Board of Christian Education consists of six elected members and is responsible for:

- Fostering the spiritual growth in the life of our congregational children
- Strengthening the Christian home and helping to equip parent(s), children and young people for Christian family living
- Providing leadership education for teachers, officers and workers
- Responsible for planning, administering, directing and supervising all Christian educational programs
- Oversee Bible Studies & Sunday School
Board of Deacons
The Board of Deacons consists of thirteen (13) elected members and is responsible for assisting the pastor (s) in all matters pertaining to the spiritual welfare of the congregation in worship, partaking of the Sacraments, supporting whole life stewardship, and practicing Christian life.

Board of Evangelism and Parish Services
The Board of Evangelism and Parish Services is responsible for the Evangelism and outreach, Human Care ministries, all auxiliaries, Church functions, and church sponsored events except those under the Board of Christian Education.

Board of Finance/Stewardship
The Board of Stewardship and Finance is responsible for the management and reporting of all financial aspects of the Church and School including stewardship, grants and bequests. An Activity & Event Financial Report must be used for events where money is received on behalf of St. Matthew for activities and events.

Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees are responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the interior and exterior of the church, educational facilities, offsite properties, outbuildings and the cemetery. The board of Trustees also manages all contracts and well as the real estate and personal property of the Congregation including the operations of the cemetery.
