St. Matthew will hold a Silent Auction on Saturday November 23 from 5:30[pm-8:30pm in Krueger Hall.
The purpose of the auction is to raise money to help cover the expense of adding a Youth and Family Minister to our congregation.
Tickets will be $20 apiece and will entitle each ticket holder to a buffet style dinner and allow them to bid on items. Tickets will be sold in advance before each worship service.
A variety of items will be arrayed on tables in Krueger Hall along with paper "Bid Sheets" where attendees will be able to record their name and their bid. Once bidding is "closed" the highest bid for each item will be announced and the winner will pay for the item and either take it with them or take a certificate to acquire the item later.
All members of Saint Matthew are asked to consider what unique and valuable items they may have to contribute to the auction and to talk to friends and associates who might have an item or a service that could be included. We will begin putting sheets on the church counter for people to volunteer their time at the event and/or an item to be auctioned. So far we know the following items will be available for bid: a certificate for a 2 night stay at the Cloran Mansion in Galena, a Cal Ripken Rookie Baseball Card, a bottle of Wine Spectator's 2023 Wine Of The Year and a gourmet dinner for four people at the home of a Certified French Chef.
